Wedding Budget Template: See What Each Part Can Cost Before the First Deposit

Type your total and guest count and it splits the budget, without doing the math by hand

  • 4 pages

Before you tour a venue or ask for a quote, it helps to know what each part of the wedding can cost at your total. The Wedding Budget Template does that math for you.

The spreadsheet takes three numbers: your real total, your guest count and a buffer you will not spend. It splits the rest across 14 categories, from venue and catering to tips and vendor meals, and shows dollars, percent of total and cost per guest for each one. Every starting percent is a blue cell you can change, and a check tells you when your percentages add up. Quick math shows food and drink per guest, roughly what each added or cut guest changes, and how your cost per guest compares with the US average from The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study (as of October 2026). A second tab compares two totals side by side.

The 4-page printable covers the same ground on paper: three numbers to settle first, a starting split at $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000, and a pencil worksheet for your own split, best quotes and top three priorities.

Who it's for

US couples with a $10k to $35k budget who want a starting split before they book anything.

What you get

A 4-page PDF with a link to the spreadsheet (.xlsx) inside. The sheet works in Excel and Google Sheets.

The category split is a planning starting point, not survey data. Move money toward what matters most to you.
