Terms of Use

Last updated

Effective October 17, 2026

Please read these terms before using petalandplan.com. Using the site means you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the site.

Who can use Petal & Plan

The site is meant for adults 18 and over. If you're under 18, use it only with a parent or guardian's permission. You must be 18 or older to buy templates.

General information, not professional advice

Petal & Plan publishes general information about wedding budgets, planning, timelines, wording, decor and events. Nothing on the site is legal, financial, tax or professional event planning advice, and reading it doesn't create a planner-client or any other professional relationship.

Marriage license rules, name change steps, vendor contracts and cancellation terms vary by state, venue and vendor. Check the official source, like your county clerk, and read your contracts before you sign. You're responsible for your own planning decisions and their results.

Prices and examples

Budgets, prices, cost per guest figures, supply counts and timelines on the site are examples. They come with an "as of" date, and prices change often and differ by region and season. An example may not match your area, your vendors or your guest count. Always get a written quote from your own vendors before you plan around a number.

Our content

The articles, templates, printables, images, graphics, logos and site design on Petal & Plan are owned by Petal & Plan or its licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may read, share links to and print our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Pinning our images with the Pinterest Save button is welcome.

You may not, without our written permission:

  • republish, copy or redistribute our articles or images
  • use our content for commercial purposes
  • frame or mirror the site
  • scrape the site, use automated tools to copy content, or use our content to train AI systems
  • remove copyright or trademark notices
  • interfere with the site's operation, security or servers
  • use the site for anything unlawful

Templates and printables

Free and paid templates come with a personal-use license. You may use them for your own wedding or event, and share a view or copy with your partner, family and wedding party who are helping plan it. Printed signs and cards from our templates may be displayed at your event.

You may not resell, share publicly, upload or redistribute the files, including on shared drives, social media, Etsy or other marketplaces. Wedding planners, venues and coordinators who want to use our templates with clients should email us about a separate license.

Some templates are Canva template links. Canva's own license terms also apply to the elements inside them.

Purchases

Paid templates are processed by a third-party payment provider, and its terms also apply. Files are delivered digitally. Because downloads can't be returned, all sales are final. If a file is damaged, incomplete or doesn't match its description, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll send a replacement or a refund. Prices may change at any time before purchase.

Things you send us

If you send us a tip, a question or a planning idea and agree that we can share it, you grant Petal & Plan a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, edit and publish it on the site, in emails and on social media. You confirm the content is yours and that it doesn't include anyone else's private information. We don't publish photos of real couples or guests, so please don't send them for publication. We may edit or decline anything we receive.

Conduct

When you contact us or join anything we run, don't harass, threaten, spam, impersonate others or post unlawful content.

Third-party sites and products

We link to stores, vendors, county offices and other sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, products, prices, privacy practices or terms. Anything you buy from them is a matter between you and that company.

How we earn money

Petal & Plan earns from affiliate links (including Amazon Associates), the sale of templates and, later, display ads. Our disclosure explains how this works.

Accuracy

We work to keep content accurate and current, but articles and templates may contain errors or become outdated. We don't warrant that anything on the site is accurate, complete or up to date, and we may change content without notice.

No warranties

The site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Petal & Plan, its owner, team and agents won't be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its content. This includes lost deposits, fees, overspending, missed deadlines or vendor disputes resulting from decisions based on our content, even if we were advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Petal & Plan, its owner and team from any claims, losses, damages or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site, your breach of these terms or your violation of anyone else's rights.

Ending access

We may suspend or end your access to the site, emails or templates at any time, without notice, for any reason, including a breach of these terms.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version here. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept it.

Events beyond our control

We aren't liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, outages, hosting failures, pandemics, war, labor disputes or government action.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the owner of Petal & Plan is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.

Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms, our Privacy Policy and any other notices posted on the site form the entire agreement between you and Petal & Plan about the site.
