Wedding Budget Checklist: 60 Line Items to Price Before You Book

A quote and a booked column for every line, without missing the fees most budgets leave off

  • 2 pages

Most wedding budgets go over because of lines nobody priced: the service charge, vendor meals, alterations, the second round of postage, tax on the rentals. This checklist puts all 60 line items on one sheet so you price each one before you sign anything.

The lines sit in seven categories: venue and rentals, food, drink and cake, photo, video and music, attire, rings and beauty, flowers, decor and signs, paper, postage and website, and fees, tips, taxes and the buffer. Each line has a short note on what the quote should include, a Quote column for the number with tax and fees, and a Booked column for the contract total. Four boxes at the bottom hold your total, quotes so far, booked so far and the buffer you have left.

A line you do not need gets a zero, not a blank, so you always know you looked.

Who it's for

Couples pricing a wedding before they book, at any total, who want to see every cost in one place.

What you get

A 2-page printable PDF in US Letter: the 60-line checklist on one sheet, and a page on what to use once the quotes turn into contracts.

Prices are examples with an as-of date. Your quotes and contracts come first.

What's inside

  • 60 line items in seven categories, on one printable sheet
  • A short note on each line about what the quote should include
  • Quote and Booked columns, so the number with tax and fees sits next to the contract total
  • Boxes for total budget, quotes so far, booked so far and buffer left
  • The lines most budgets leave off: service charge, vendor meals, cake cutting, overtime, second-round postage, processing fees
  • A buffer line of 8 to 10 percent, so the surprises have somewhere to go

Safety first: Prices are examples with an as-of date. Always confirm with your own vendors. Please read our editorial guidelines.
